The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds are a totally new kind of audio wearable device: premium sound built into a cuff-shaped earbud that doesn’t cover your ear. Proprietary Bose OpenAudio technology allows the earbuds to play rich, immersive audio privately even though the speakers on the earbuds sit a short distance from your ear canal, leaving you open to the sounds of your surroundings. The cuffs hook around the outside of your ear so gently that you might forget they’re even there, so you can leave them on all day, always ready for music, calls, or videos.

The Open Earbuds were designed from the ground up to give you a soundtrack for your life: to let you enjoy your music without blocking your ears, in a shape so comfortable you can almost forget you’re wearing any earbuds at all. The engineering of these earbuds was a matter of squeezing Bose OpenAudio technology — which projects deep, rich sound across a short distance of open space to your ear canal — into a shape that could grip your ear extremely gently, leave your ear open to outside sounds, and contain a long-lasting battery. This design process resulted in the Open Earbuds’ unique shape, inspired by ear cuff jewelry. The light-as-air flex arm connects the audio portion of the earbud to a battery barrel that goes behind your ear, providing just enough grip to keep the earbuds secure on any size ear.

Yes. The Open Earbuds are excellent for exercise, thanks to their confident stability on your ear, powerful sound, and open design. Bose’s unique OpenAudio technology allows air to keep your ears cool and dry while you enjoy both your music and sounds from your environment, such as city sounds, nature, input from a coach or workout partner, or sounds that help you play a sport such as tennis or basketball.

Yes. The combination of skin-safe materials, a fully open design, long battery life, and unparalleled comfort means you can leave the earbuds on all day, always connected to your device and ready to produce rich audio the moment you need it.

In stereo mode, the earbud batteries will provide up to 7.5 hours of play time or 48 hours of standby time (no audio playing). For all-day wear that involves a mix of audio listening and standby, the battery life will vary depending on the proportion of each. For example, 5 hours of audio would leave 10 hours of standby life remaining. And if the battery does run out, a quick 10-minute charge in the case will add up to 2 hours of play time.

Yes. You can slide the earbud slightly up or down the outside of your ear to adjust for comfort, preferred sound balance, looks, or to avoid interference with jewelry.

Yes. The Open Earbuds are uniquely designed to attach to a part of the ear that does not interfere with most glasses, hats, and piercings. If your accessories touch the product, that’s no problem as long as the earbuds remain comfortable and secure. The magnets that help the earbuds attach to their charging case may occasionally stick slightly to jewelry made of ferromagnetic metals like nickel; this is not damaging to the earbuds or the jewelry, but if bothersome can be avoided by slightly sliding the earbud up or down the ear, away from the jewelry.

OpenAudio is a proprietary Bose technology that allows audio played a short distance from your ear canal to be rich, deep, and private — without sealing your ear. Each earbud uses a tiny dipole transducer system engineered for loud-and-clear personal audio that stays at the ear — instead of going everywhere else.

It’s easy to hear the difference Bose OpenAudio makes by comparing the power of the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds with a traditional set of earbuds held slightly outside your ear. If you remove the traditional earbud from your ear canal and hold it near your ear at the same distance that the Open Earbuds sit, you’ll notice the much greater volume and richer bass from the Open Earbuds.

Bose OpenAudio directs rich, deep audio into the ear canal while using proprietary technology to minimize sound spillage in other directions. In most environments and at most listening levels, people around you won’t hear a thing. If you turn up the volume all the way in a very quiet environment, others may hear that something is playing from your earbuds, but they won’t be able to hear any detail unless they get very close.

No. By design, the Open Earbuds don’t block out the world or have noise cancelling, so you can enjoy your music while staying open to the sounds of the world around you. They do have an automatic volume control feature, available in the Bose Music app, that helps you hear your music evenly as your environment changes from quiet to loud and back.

Bluetooth multipoint, a feature that will allow the Open Earbuds to connect to two source devices at the same time, will be available through a software update coming later this year. Be sure to set up your earbuds with the Bose Music app to receive software updates.

The Bose Music app also allows you to customize the shortcut function on each
earbud’s button, and one of the available options is Switch Source. Setting a
shortcut to Switch Source will enable you to switch between previously connected
Bluetooth source devices with a press and hold of the earbud button without
needing to take the earbuds off.

Ratings and Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally! The perfect earbuds! I was just talking to my son about how I can't seem to find earbuds that work for my tiny ears. I've tried them all. My two main complaints regarding the ones I had tried is that they would fall out and if they did stay in, they would be very uncomfortable and I could only wear them for a limited time. THEN I got an email from BOSE about the Ultra Open Earbuds. I thought to myself "Self...why not give them a try". WOW! They are perfect. The unique design keeps the Earbuds securely attached to my ear without causing any discomfort. The sound is great and they very easy to control. An added bonus for me (since I like to wear them in environments where I need to stay aware of what's going on around me) is that they don't block out the ambient noise. This is crucial if you wear them while walking. I would highly recommend these to anybody and everybody...but especially to people who have small ear openings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They disappear on the ear I've had these for two weeks and put them to the test! Absolutely love the all day comfort. They look strange but they quickly disappear on your ears with all a day comfort without that ear canal pain of other ear buds. I work from home and love to listen to music throughout the day. They have been equally great around the house with two little ones I can still hear their demands while listening to a podcast or music. Why is that the case well they are not blocking the ear canal so I can still hear my surroundings. The other really cool feature is to be able to pair with my Bose 700 soundbar. I like to listen to a show with my wife. We of course fight about the volume. I like to watch a little louder than her. Maybe all those head banging shows in my younger years. So I know it sounds strange but is really is awesome I’ve done this previously with on ear but you cannot really interact with the person sitting with you watching.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable fit & great sound With the Ultra-Open-Earbuds, I don’t have to worry about a perfect fit into my ear, which never occurs, and the sound is incredible. In my experience over the last several months, these buds remain stably attached to my ear even while I exercise. I avidly recommend the Ultra Open Earbuds to everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bose Ultra Open Earbuds For open ear buds I have to say it’s the best money can buy right now. I tried at least 4 other pair of high end open ear buds and they didnt come close to the Bose Ultra Open Ear buds. These are extremely comfortable the sound is great. Some people complain you dont get noise cancelling, well they are open ear buds thats not possible, if you want noise cancelling then get in ear earbuds dont knock open ear buds for not having it. The sound wont be intense on the open ear buds as it is with in ear ear buds but again REMEMBER they are open ear ear buds so set your expectations and use common sense for how they are designed. Decide what you prefer with ear buds then choose the in ear or open ear ear buds based on what your looking for. Personally for me I have both in ear and the open ear ear buds and use them base on my surrounding and how Im using them. But so far I seem to be using the open ear about 85% of the time. They are so much more comfortable and when Im in certain places I want to be able to hear around me which is most of the time. For me the Bose Ultra Open Ear buds hit the mark perfectly for me, yeah they are expensive but for what it gives me the price doesnt bother me. I rather pay $300 for quality open ear buds like the Bose rather than throw away $175 for crapping open ear buds that I have tried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bose earbuds release so far! Overall, I was very impressed with these earbuds. It’s very hard to get decent ones that sound good and are also completely wireless, comfort is a pretty important element as well. The ultra open earbuds have ALL of these features. I wasn’t sure what to expect when listening with these earbuds, I figured there would be a lot of sound leakage but to my surprise they are very personal. Listening to music doesn’t broadcast to the rest of the room like some open headphones can. They work as well as the Bose sunglasses do in this. In addition, the sound quality is crisp and amazing. They really compare to my QC45s which is exceedingly difficult to do with smaller drivers that earbuds are limited to. I’m guessing the open design in exploited in some way to make them sound as great as they do but definitely not a disappointing sound experience at all. Now of course I must address the fit as that’s probably the most uncommon feature these have. It does take some finagling and adjusting to get them into place, it’s hard to give advice since everyone’s anatomy is different. Eventually when you do find the spot they’re supposed to be, they hang on similar to clip on earrings and aren’t uncomfortable at all, I can wear them for much longer than any earbud I’ve tried so far. They tend to stay in place for the most part but when you’re new it might seem annoying to get used to and shift around, or did in my case. But it’s not rocket science. I have not really used these while doing anything remotely physically strenuous so can’t accurately comment on their stability in action. I was very fortunate to test these and am glad I got to experience them - they are definitely my favorite go to daily earbuds now. Definitely an upgrade over the more typical earbud models in sound and comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect earbuds for those on the go These earbuds are simply in a league of their own. Rather than sitting inside of your ear canal and being destined to eventually make your ear sore these earbuds latch onto to the back of your ear and immediately disappear from thought. They sit so snug and comfortably on your ear that I frequently forget that I am even wearing them even though I have audio playing full blast. These earbuds simply immerse you into a perfect blended state of being in the moment and aware of all your surroundings while also being in a private audio world of your own where you are listening to your favorite album or podcast. This type of audio listening experience is honestly one of my favorites, especially when you are living an active on the go lifestyle. These are great for throwing on to walk the dog so I can hear any cars coming up behind me when I am crossing busy streets, when I am in the office and still want to be aware of anybody calling my name, when I am in the garage doing some bike repairs and want to be able to hear what noises my bike and tools are making while I listen to my favorite podcast, and of course when I am doing cardio or weightlifting so I don't have to deal with gross sweaty silicone ear tips on my Airpod pros. The audio quality is phenomenal and absolutely up to standard of modern day high quality earbuds, the construction of both the earbuds and case is sophisticated and durable and the design and vision of is incredible and works extremely well in practice. Trust me do not fear this unconventional earbud design, these stay on my ear significantly better than any airpod has and I have taken these with me on several mountain bike rides where I am going quite fast through very rough and bumpy terrain and these earbuds never felt loose for a second. However, I must say, these earbuds are not for taking to the library to isolate yourself and deeply focus on your work, or for on the airplane to block out any white noise. These earbuds were designed for being able to engage in your environment while having audio not having the most secluded stuio-like audio listening experience you could have possible with features like noise cancelling, that simply was not the designed purpose of this product which may not work for some, but is seriously awesome for others like myself. I am genuinely stoked on this product and new perspective on audio listening from Bose, If you are on the go and have some gripes with your current bluetooth earbuds I highly recommend that you give these a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Go To Sound Deliverer! First, the color is beautiful. Second, the sound that comes from them are amazing. When I am on the elliptical working out I get some of the best sounds without hearing the equipment. It also allows me to hear things I want to hear which may be important. Third, the battery life has been amazing, and I don't have to worry about them dying in two to three days. Lastly, I don't have anything stuck in my ear which again is an amazing feature. I don't have to worry about popping my ears due to the pressure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great things come in small packages! I was blessed to be a part of the Bose Sneak Peek program and was elated to be one of the first to use the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds. Very lightweight & comfortable design along with the Bose unique sound of course. Long battery life (8 hours for me) and compact charging case for convenience. Highly recommended for sure, you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the future on your ear Using these earbuds is like strolling through a personal sound field that consistently stays put, no matter the activity; be it in the gym, on the farm, in the city or at home. This design brings a sense of freedom; I can be fully immersed in my surroundings while enjoying my own soundtrack. It’s the blend of awareness and private listening that sets these earbuds apart. They combine snug fit, stellar sound, and the ability to keep me connected to the world around me in a sleek, refined design. Their robust build and intuitive functionality enrich my daily life, making every moment enjoyable with a backdrop of my favorite tunes. I’m genuinely impressed with these earbuds and their ability to deliver a private, yet open listening experience. They’re a testament to what modern audio tech can achieve, blending high-quality sound with real-world practicality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Amazing Ultra Open Earbuds!! I received these Bose Ultra Open Earbuds as a gift and I am impressed! The open ear concept is game changing and innovative! Sound quality is extremely important to me and these do not disappoint. The Immersive setting literally reminds me of surround sound system sitting in your ears. These earbuds are lightweight and did not cause me any pain especially after wearing them many hours each day. The unique design hold on to your ears without any problem. I have a very active lifestyle which includes running, mountain biking and cardio workouts and was skeptical about these holding up and not falling out unexpectedly. Once you put these in your ears and find the right spot, they don’t move! The only time one fell out is when I came home and my dog excitedly licked my face and ears and knocked one out. There is no On/Off button on these. Once you put them in, they are technically “On” all the time. If your phone isn’t being used, they go into a standby mode until something happens (phone call, text message, email notification or any other type of notification) and then like magic, they are on and ready to work. The Ultra Open Earbuds have an amazing battery life on their own and have lasted me a full day of use (talking on the phone, streaming music and movies) without needing a charge in the middle of the day. When I go to bed, I drop them in the charging case and repeat the process again the next day. I’ve gone for 5 days without the need to recharge the case. Again, these are an open ear design and allow you to be consciously aware of your surroundings. This is important especially if you are out in the public listening to music or talking to someone on the phone you can still hear what’s happening around you. I may have attended several company meetings while wearing these and still listening to my music and nobody around me could hear the music playing even when the volume was actually quite high…. During several phone calls I was sitting next to a colleague and he could not hear the caller I was talking to. I turned the volume all the way up and he leaned into me to see if he could hear the conversation and could only hear minor noise; not necessarily hearing and actual words. This is important to me since I spend 8-9 hours a day on the phone. I can still hear me colleagues talking to me while I’m on the phone. I am not new, nor am I an amature to Bose Products. I have their original Bose BT2 Bluetooth headset, a really old pair of QC-3s (about 14 years old that my daughter is still using), QC-35 headphones (8 years old), the Headphones 700 I bought myself for Christmas, the Soundbar 500 and Soundbar 700 (with surround speakers and bass module), and several Bluetooth speakers. EVERYTHING still works as good as it did when it was brand new. With that being said, these do not disappoint and are truly amazing earbuds & hold up to the Bose name, quality and cosmetically aesthetic designs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great daily earbuds for casual listening These earbuds fit the exact opposite use case of closed/noise canceling earbuds. Being able to go through all my daily tasks and activities with background music while still being able to hear everything around me is a breath of fresh air. The open-ear design really does make a difference since all other earbuds have some degree of passive noise cancellation so listening to music and hearing a friend's voice an all its clarity is a pretty cool experience. Sound quality is surprisingly very good. I thought having an open-ear design would hinder it's sound quality greatly, but it still sounds very good to me. I usually have these at a lower/medium volume so it's almost like a cafe setting of having music constantly in the background while I talk with friends or coworkers. Once you put these at a louder setting it does lose slightly lose it's privacy, but the details and fullness of the sound really comes through. The fit and comfort is a bit of a learned experience. Since it 'bands around' your ear rather than going in your ear, you really need to find a comfortable sweet spot. When these are resting all the way down on my ear against my earlobe then I'll start feeling discomfort fairly quickly, but if I move it up on the middle area of my ear then I can leave it there for hours. The comfort at this sweet spot is wonderful because combined with it's weightless feel, most of the time I forget it's there. I tried jogging and playing tennis with these on and it surprisingly stayed on. It took a moment to trust that they weren't going to fall out, but eventually I was able to relax and just enjoy my exercise listening to music and bantering my friends at the same time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than airpods! I've been using this product for at least a month now and I love them! The only earbuds I had used before were Apple Airpods, and I rarely used them. I liked being wired because the airpods didn't fit well in my ears, and especially did not fit well when working out--they'd fall out. These earbuds barely moved during an outdoor run, and they sit comfortably in my ears. I love Bose headphones overall, and like the variety of modes with this one, it's like having surround sound when listening to music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Welcome Addition to A Stacked Lineup. These Bose Ultra Open Earbuds are a great addition to my Bose Earbud collection! I've had a few different sets of earbuds in my time, and I've always come back to my Bose set for the noise cancelling, comfort, range and ease of use, and overall sound depth. Where these new Ultra Open Earbuds add to the market is in the fit, function, and overall music experience. These things are perfect for when you want great sound and still want to hear what's going on around you. In addition, the immersive sound feature is something you have to experience yourself. Pros: Design: At first glance, I wasn't sure about this design and its ability to stay on your ear, but once I figured out the fit from the instructional videos, I was surprised at how well they stayed attached with the unique fit. I tried everything to get these to fall off. From shaking my head vigorously to jumping up and down. I tried them on my family members too. Once that didn't work, I took them through some group exercise classes and a three mile run. They stayed on perfectly. The different feel does take a little bit of time to get used to as you may feel like they will come off, but they didn't. As an added bonus, I tend to perspire pretty heavily when I work out and the open ear design allowed this to be less of a problem than with the usual closed ear systems (the more you sweat, the more often the earbuds come off; these stayed on the entire time without any adjustments). Immersive Sound: This is where these buds shine. The immersive sound feature turns your listening into a concert like sound experience. When you move, it feels like the sound is following you along. You have to experience it to understand. Uses: Working, exercise, going on a walk, cleaning around the house/yard, you name it, I tried it. They are just a good all around set of earbuds. Cons: These do have cons, but they are mostly due to things the buds are not designed to do. Noise Cancelling: With the open ear platform, the sound of your environment gets in. These are not designed for noise cancelling, quite the opposite. They are designed for you to hear your environment, and your tunes at the same time. Bass: Again, with the open ear style, you lose some of the driving bass you can expect from a noise cancelling pairing like the Bose Quiet Comfort earbuds. When I want some thump, I turn to my quiet comfort. All in all, these buds and associated features are an unique set up to enhance a crowded market. The open ear buds are a game changer for letting in the sound, but having the sound travel along with an active user.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Favorite Running Companion! My new Bose Ultra Open Earbuds are officially my new favorite eay to wirelessly connect to my devices!. They are light as a feather which means I can listen to my devices longer without the ache my other earbuds cause. Listening to music outside and being aware of my surroundings was a balancing act, not anymore. Not only am I able to listen to my play list as I go for my daily run, but the open ear design allows me to still be present and alert to my surroundings. Did I mentioned the amazing sound quality!!! These for me are a win, win!

Bose Ultra Open Earbuds are amazing for music lovers like me who want to enjoy rich, immersive sound without blocking out the world (or blocking out their loved ones!). These open earbuds are perfect for running, working, or relaxing with your favorite tunes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it if traditional buds don’t fit I received the Bose open earbuds as a product test and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed them. They are unlike any other earbuds I have ever used, as they do not go inside your ear canal, but rather sit on the outer edge of your ear. This means that they do not block out any ambient noise, which is great for situational awareness and safety, especially when I use them at the gym or go for a run. They also do not fall out of my ears, which is a common problem I have with other earbuds. The sound quality of the Bose open earbuds is amazing, as expected from Bose. They deliver crisp and clear audio, with balanced bass and treble. The battery life is also impressive, as they last for up to 8 hours on a single charge. The Bluetooth connection is stable and reliable, and the controls are easy to use. The only downside of the Bose open earbuds is that they take some time to get used to. At first, they felt a bit awkward and uncomfortable on my ears, and I was worried that they would slip off. But after a few days of wearing them, I got used to the fit and feel, and they became very comfortable and secure. I also had to adjust the volume and equalizer settings on my phone to get the best sound experience. Overall, I would highly recommend the Bose open earbuds to anyone who is looking for a unique and innovative way to listen to music, podcasts, or calls. They are perfect for the gym, as they do not interfere with your workout, and they let you hear your surroundings. They are also great for everyday use, as they are lightweight and durable. They are definitely worth a try!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Open Ear Earbuds Why I got these headphones: I work in a lab, occasionally work out and walk outside. I do not like having anything in or completely over my ears for that long Pros: Great balanced audio in immersion, can be worn without blocking out the world. Very comfortable and can be worn for a while Cons: Hard to know how to position them right off the bat but once you find a place that works for you, they are great. My optimal position for audio overlapped with an earring I have but thankfully it is healed enough that it can handle the slight pressure. Great use cases (in my opinion): work tasks, running outside, playing ambient calm sounds for stress, most music Less great use case: Playing (really) loud music or audio for when you need to block out the world or your own thoughts

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly Great Sound with these Open Earbuds I was a bit skeptical when I first opened the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds and examined them. I use Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II everyday, so how would the Ultra Open Earbuds compare? I was surprised what great sound these open earbuds deliver. A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME – I am an IT Consultant and work long days with a lot of video and teleconferencing. I enjoy audio books, jazz and popular music. I am a bike rider and a rower and I enjoy cooking as a hobby. USE CASE I have been using the Ultra Open Earbuds for a few weeks now. I really love them, mainly because I can wear them all day without feeling them at all and they deliver high quality sound. In fact, they are so comfortable that I literally forget that I am wearing them. I have worn them while working, cooking, doing chores in and out of the house, relaxing and exercising. These will be my go to on a daily basis. Through all the occasions of use, listening to a podcast or book or taking a phone call in a loud environment (i.e., the mall) proved to be most challenging and required me to turn up the volume beyond the normal level. PROS/CONS. PROS – The brand name means quality sound and manufacturing and they live up to their name. They provide great sound in a quiet or moderately loud environment There are actual buttons on these earbuds that control volume, pause, skip, answer calls, change modes or, most importantly, switch devices. I’ve never had such a functional pair of earbuds – extremely easy to use. (I haven’t hung up on one person accidentally which I have done with every other pair of earbuds I’ve ever owned). They are lightweight and extremely comfortable. I enjoy using them while still being able to hear what is happening around me. The new immersion mode is fantastic. It puts the sound in front of you which may seem odd, but really puts you in the middle of the sound. It’s just amazing that this can happen with open earbuds. CONS – The unusual design takes some moving around and fiddling to find the best fit for my ear and to achieve the best sound. This process wasn’t truly intuitive. There are times when I want to be able to hear my surrounds and other times when I want to close out extraneous noise. When my task requires total focus/concentration (i.e. listening to a book, work phone call), I prefer my noise cancelling Quiet Comfort Earbuds II

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Space Age Has Really Arrived! Wow! 5 star-worth for the unique space age design alone! In fact, that's my nickname for these Bose buds: "Space Age!" The design is truly unique in a world of mainstream earbud styling. While stunning to look at, almost akin to jewelry, it took me a minute to figure out how to wear them! I had to watch tutorials, which Bose helpfully provides. I kept trying to stick them IN my ear canal rather than ON my ear like an ear cuff. I thought they would fall out, but they didn't. In fact, the way they wrap felt as secure if not more secure than the in-ear buds. Important caveat: these are not noise cancelling like quiet comfort and other Bose buds. I always use my Bose noise cancelling buds for traveling. I cannot fly without them! These will not replace those. While they aren't noise cancelling, they do a solid job of immersing the listener in the audio. For reference, they are nowhere near as transparent as the "Aware" mode on the Bose noise cancelling--much more opaque than that setting. In terms of safety, these cannot be more highly recommended. It's just not safe to be completely oblivious to surroundings while walking in traffic or in crowded places. These allow awareness while providing truly amazing Bose immersive sound. The modes are interesting--the still and motion are too cool. The audio stays centered even when moving your head back and forth in "Still" and "Motion" throws the sound out in front! The immersive mode does take some getting used to, but the option for regular (Bose regular, that is) stereo sound is always an option. Overall, for me, other than on an airplane, I will be turning to these beautiful Space Age buds for my daily activities--walking the dog, exercising, listening to audio books, and watching movies on my computer when hubby is sleeping!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing sound and comfort. Next level earbuds I went ALL IN and wore them for days for many hours. I was amazed at the sound quality and ability to hear the world around me. It's tough to explain but they are loud enough to block out sound but not completely noise-canceling. Running/biking but need to hear cars or horns or at home/work when you have to pay attention to phones or a child. The open earbud is perfect for when you still need to pay attention to your surroundings. 2. SOUND: The sound is amazing and the immersion sound (surround sound) is very cool. You can hear background sounds like being in a theater or concert. Perfect clarity and good bass but lacks that in-ear/over-the-ear extreme bass for music. 3. COMFORT: The fit was weird at first because we are all used to the in-ear concept. Once they wrapped around the ear and settled in, I didn’t even know they were in. They are practically weightless and I only took them off to charge. Great battery life. 4: In the Bose App., I loved that I could switch between devices, connectivity was quick and easy. Nice feature. OVERALL: These new concept earbuds have amazing sound I really like that they aren’t completely noise canceling. Great for interacting with surroundings while also enjoying personal background music You have to give them a chance and you will understand why they were created. Don’t be resistant to trying something new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bose Sound Quality, Long Battery Life I have been using the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds exclusively for around a month now and my first impression was that the sound quality that Bose products are known for is there as always. This is the first time I've seen earbuds like these, where they somehow magically work by utilizing the ear pinna in contrast to being inserted into the ear canal. I suspect this will actually help protect hearing, while still being able to achieve great audio quality. I'm very familiar with Bose products, having used their noise-cancelling headsets (both wireless and wired) as well as their awesome aviation headset. Prior to getting the Ultra Open earbuds, I mostly use a competitors product named after a fruit...;) In any case, I actually think that the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds can fit a separate role outside of noise cancelling style of earbuds. First, if you are wanting to listen to music, podcast or whatever yet still want to actually hear what is going on around you, this is where these shine. It's not like wearing a cheap pair of earbuds that you by default can't hear your music when there is too much external noise though. These you can somehow hear important things (like the wife or kid talking to you), while still hearing your audio with perfect quality. Now while I would not recommend wearing earbuds/headphones while driving, these would be the only ones I'd feel comfortable wearing because I can still hear what's going on in the world outside. I also utilized the earbuds while exercising and doing farm work outside. They didn't fall out/off, though I did have to adjust them from time to time to keep it on the sweet spot of my ear for best audio quality. I would say that they stay on the ear better than the competitor product (named after a fruit). Now if you are trying to actually cancel out external sounds AND hear audio in your earbuds, these aren't really meant for that. I tried using them while working on my tractor and the tractor was simply too loud to hear my audio. Not a big deal though because like I said, these earbuds fulfill more of a role when listening to audio when you NEED to hear things externally. Battery life is seemingly infinite (I realize it's not really but it seems like it) when compared to the competitor product I mentioned. I haven't been able to actually deplete the batteries and have used them non-stop for 4 hours or so. I believe there is a battery saving feature of these earbuds where they seem to "turn on" only when audio is detected vs on at all times. It probably helps the battery too that there isn't any noise-cancelling. This battery saving feature did have one downside in limited circumstances though. When listening to something where audio is also intermittent (ie. Instagram Reels, language learning apps like Duolingo) you will sometimes have a slight delay when the earbuds will sense the audio then "turn on". To get around that you just have to replay whatever audio you are trying to listen to once you can tell the earbuds turned on (you will hear them turn on, though I don't know how to describe it). I kind of suspect that Bose may be able to do some software update to turn that feature off in the future (with the downside of reducing battery life?) but I have no idea if that is something that is possible. All in all, I would recommend the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds over any other competitor of a like product if you don't need the noise cancelling features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Immersive Experience I recently had the pleasure of testing out the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds, and I must say, they exceeded my expectations in every aspect- nothing less can be expected from Bose. I am a single mom in my 40s who works from home. These earbuds helped me with my daily tasks. From taking work meetings to running around doing house chores, not to mention going for walks to get my steps in. From the moment I put in my earbuds, I was immersed in a world of rich, crisp audio that brought my music to life like never before. The sound is clear and well-defined, allowing vocals and instruments to shine through with incredible detail. The immersive sound feature is an experience. The sound follows your head movements. I was able to pick up on instruments and vocals I had not heard from my favorite songs. My one wish with this feature is for the bass to be more prominent. The earphones are comfortable to wear for long periods, thanks to their open design. They fit snugly in my ears and stayed in place even during vigorous activity, making them ideal for workouts or any physical activity. In addition to their impressive sound quality and comfort, the Ultra Open Earbuds are also built to last, with durable construction and reliable connectivity. I used my earbuds for a week without the need to charge them, they definitely have an amazing battery life. Whether I was listening to music at home or on the go, I never experienced any dropouts or interference, ensuring a seamless listening experience every time. Overall, I highly recommend the Ultra Open Earbuds to anyone in search of premium sound quality. With their exceptional audio performance, comfortable fit, and open design, they are truly a standout choice in the crowded world of earphones.
