The Bose TV Speaker improves upon the best-selling Solo 5 system. It is notably louder, has clearer dialogue, and overall improved acoustic performance. It also adds HDMI-CEC connectivity to be compatible with today’s A/V equipment and your current TV remote. Lastly, the Bose TV Speaker has a sleeker, lower-profile design, preventing it from blocking the bottom edge of the TV.

Yes. The Bose TV Speaker improves upon the Dialogue mode of the Solo 5 System, so now your dialogue is even clearer for TV and/or podcasts. Dialogue mode offers enhanced speech and pronunciation. It analyzes what you’re watching, separates the vocals from other audio elements and amplifies them. Additionally, the Bose TV Speaker allows Dialogue mode to be set as “persistent,” so you no longer have to enable it every time you turn on the product.

Yes. The Bose TV Speaker can be wall mounted with the Bose Soundbar Wall Bracket (sold separately). This is the same current bracket that is used for the Bose Soundbar 500 and 700.

The Bose TV Speaker is designed for use with almost any TV with an optical audio output (optical cable included) or HDMI-ARC connectivity (HDMI cord sold separately). Most HDTVs are also HDMI-CEC enabled, meaning if you have such a TV and connect your Bose TV Speaker with an HDMI cable, you can continue using the same remote control you are currently using.

Yes. You can enjoy your music and podcasts streamed wirelessly from a Bluetooth-enabled portable device that supports streaming.

Yes. The Bose TV Speaker can play music in synchronized 1-1 connection with any Bose smart speaker or soundbar using Bose SimpleSync technology. This functionality is being controlled by the smart speaker or soundbar in the Bose Music app. Note, you cannot connect a pair of headphones to the Bose TV Speaker for synchronized audio/video grouping.

Compatible products: Bose Home Speaker 500, Home Speaker 300, Bose Portable Home Speaker, Bose Smart Soundbar 900, Bose Smart Soundbar 700, Bose Smart Soundbar 600, Bose Soundbar 500, or Bose Smart Soundbar 300.

No. If you want to listen to your TV with headphones, you should use the TV’s headphone output. Many TVs have a headphone output.

No.

If your TV is HDMI-CEC enabled, you can connect the Bose TV Speaker to your TV using an HDMI cable (sold separately) and continue to use the remote control you are already familiar with to control your TV. HDMI-CEC will allow the Bose TV Speaker to automatically turn on when you turn on your TV and your existing remote control will control the Bose TV Speaker volume.

If you connect the Bose TV Speaker to your TV using the supplied optical cable, you can use the included remote. Or you can program a third-party universal remote to control (please refer to your universal remote control for programming instructions and the appropriate Bose IR codes). Also, the soundbar can be programmed to “learn” the volume and mute commands from your existing remote. See Using another remote to control your Bose system in the Bose Support section for instructions.

However, for music streaming, you need the included remote to place your Bose TV Speaker in Bluetooth mode and connect your Bluetooth-enabled device for the first time. Once connected, you do not need the remote moving forward. You can go to your Bluetooth settings and “force connect” from previously paired devices.

You can simply “force connect” your previously paired device to the Bose TV Speaker by going to your device’s Bluetooth settings menu and selecting the Bose TV Speaker. This will automatically switch to the Bluetooth source. It will also turn on the Bose TV Speaker if the speaker is off and put it into the Bluetooth source.

The Bose TV Speaker is Roku TV Ready™ certified. That means the TV Speaker is designed and certified to work seamlessly with a Roku TV™. When you connect your TV Speaker to a Roku TV™ through the HDMI ARC port, you’ll enjoy smooth, automatic setup, easy access to the TV Speaker sound settings in the Roku TV™ on-screen menu, and compatibility with the Roku TV™ remote.

The Bose TV Speaker may require a software update to support Roku TV Ready™. Roku TV Ready™ is not available in all regions. For more information, visit: go.roku.com/rokutvready.

Yes. There is a bass level adjustment located on the remote control.

Yes. You can connect the optional Bose Bass Module 500 or Bose Bass Module 700 to the Bose TV Speaker via a wired connection. This requires the Bose Bass Module Connection Cable or a standard 3.5 mm cable (sold separately).

No.

No.

Any device with an HDMI-ARC, optical, or analog audio output can be connected to the Bose TV Speaker. However, we strongly recommend that customers only connect the TV Speaker to the TV’s output, so sound and picture will always be in sync.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not what I expected Sounds better than the tv speakers but not near what I expected it to be. I expected deeper base like Bose is famous for. Not happy about that. Would I buy it again? No.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from In and out When it’s working properly it’s great but it doesn’t. The tv speaker goes in and out and never is on completely. We troubleshoot the problem but still isn’t working properly.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn’t Meet My Expectations I bought this 3 weeks ago, and voices are not clear when watching a concert or a football game

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I was hoping for. Packaging was good. I was expecting clear voice sound. I have some hearing loss , so I was hoping this would help me hear the dialogue better. I couldn't tell any difference between the TV and the Bose speaker. My wife who has no hearing loss, said she couldn't tell any difference either. Disappointed 😞

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Many Kinks I bought to use with a Samsung QLED TV. The cable that came with the speaker did not work. I ended up having to use bluetooth. Every time I turn the TV on I have to connect the bluetooth for the speaker to work and it is always blasting loud that I have to turn the speaker volume down very quickly so not to disturb the rest of the house. The TV is in a bedroom and this process each time I turn the speaker on is very annoying. I would just like to turn the TV on and have everyting work with one remote. Unfortunately the remote with the TV and the Xfinity remote will not pair with the speaker.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sound shuts off I am thinking of returning this as it just shuts off when I'm trying to watch a show but my TV speakers does not come on instead. So I find myself watching a show with no sound.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Marginal improvement over my TV's sound - returned I am a big fan of Bose audio .. so maybe when I bought the Bose TV speaker, I had high expectations. But the sound was only marginally better than my Samsung TV's! Plus the additional remote was distracting. Maybe a higher spec product would work better - the 500 or 700. The Bose TV Speaker was not for me - I returned it within a week

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is the LAST Bose Product I’ll Ever Buy I don’t know if my new TV speaker is a good product or bad — I have been unable to get it to work. While it should be s simple matter to connect the speaker, for me it has been a frustrating experience with a still-negative outcome. The directions are not clear when it comes to which of two connection options to use. I have followed the troubleshooting steps with no success. And, of course, it is virtually the impossible— as is so often the case with ANYTHING one buys these days — to get help from an actual human being. I have numerous Bose products, but this is the last. I was already disappointed by the noise canceling quality of ear buds. Never again, Bose — this TV speaker is the last product I will buy from you OR recommend to others.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bose no more! Had to send it back . speaker would not always turn on with my samsung tv. customer service was not very helpfull. They said they could repar it . They finally did agree to exchange it. I had only 2 weeks Still waiting for replacement. Very disappointed in Bose. Should have bought a SONOS

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible experience from a longtime Bose advocate The speaker worked alright. I had the bass on the remote turned up all the way to compensate for not having a separate bass module. I could have made it work. However, the next day the speaker didn’t work and was very hot underneath. I reset it by unplugging it for awhile but it never worked again. After reading similar reviews, I simply decided to return it. Very disappointed in the product and Bose. It pained me to buy a different brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stopped working after the first day I bought this for my Fiance's birthday gift, and after unboxing and using I was mesmerized with the quality of this product. Needless to say, the next day we sat down to watch a movie and the sound bar wouldn't come on. I unplugged it and re-plugged it but the only sound that came from the sound bar was a faint clicking as if a car battery was dead when trying to start. I went online and followed the troubleshoot process without success; It stopped working for whatever reason. I filled out an online petition and at first I got a return label to send it to the factory, where it would take 5 weeks to repair! Thankfully a representative corrected it so that I could get a new one instead, but this whole situation has given me doubt about the quality of this product, very frustrating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bose tv speaker review. I’m not happy with it. Base it low. Louder it gets the worst the sound is. small controller. No controls on the speaker. If you lose the remote you are done for. I wish I can upgrade to the Bose 300 I heard it at bestbuy and sounded amazing. I just can’t afford it. Bose speakers are great just not the lower tier ones. Anything over the 300 models are fantastic. I might return this to get the 300 but I can’t afford to pay more to get the better one

Rated 1 out of 5 by from worse Bose purchase: overheat & noise It was supposed to be Christmas gift. It was overheating after 15min of use. I let it cool down a few time but same issue. At once point it starts making a high pitched noise. Unplug it and decided to exchange it. My conversation with customer service made me decide to just return it. Idk if they celebrate Christmas but the only option offered was a replacement that I will receive in 2 weeks, after new year and the holidays. I packed it, returned it and got me a Samsung sound bar which surprisingly has better sound; I’ve spent thousands on Bose equipment in the past and because of this experience, I’m not buying anything from them again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor instructions and no support I just received my Bose TV speaker today. We have a TiVo cable box. The HDMI-ARC on the tv is hooked up to the cable box so I can’t control the sound bar with my TiVo remote. Disappointed in getting online support.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dud Have the Solo 5. Was really excited to get this new soundbar. Hooked it up via HDMI ARC as soon as it was delivered. It turned on fine with the cable remote but would take as little as 1 minuet to 5-6 minutes for the sound to kick in thru the soundbar. And yes, the TV was set to bypass TV speakers. I also cleared data & cache as well as power reset the TV & nothing worked. When the sound was on, it sounded amazing in our master bedroom. A big improvement compared to the Solo 5. The dialogue is much more in the forefront. Would've been great if it worked properly. Returning it & going back to the Solo 5 we had which works fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worthless product returning this after 1 day I am so disappointed in this. I pre-ordered this before it was available and am so sorry I wasted my time and money. After I received it, it followed the very simple set up instructions and... nothing. No sound from my Samsung TV. I followed the troubled shooting steps and... nothing. I went to the TV sound settings, and once I selected audio out put... I worked, but to be honest, the sound quality is no better than my TV. I tried to connect it to Bose Connect so a I can use it in conjunction with my new Bose speaker and... nope. Doesn’t work with a Bose connect and doesn’t have that functionality. What a waste. Today, I turn on the TV and... no sound form the TV. So, back it goes.
