It also adds HDMI-CEC connectivity to be compatible with today’s A/V equipment and your current TV remote. Lastly, the Bose TV Speaker has a sleeker, lower-profile design, preventing it from blocking the bottom edge of the TV.

Yes. The Bose TV Speaker improves upon the Dialogue mode of the Solo 5 System, so now your dialogue is even clearer for TV and/or podcasts. Dialogue mode offers enhanced speech and pronunciation. It analyzes what you’re watching, separates the vocals from other audio elements and amplifies them. Additionally, the Bose TV Speaker allows Dialogue mode to be set as “persistent,” so you no longer have to enable it every time you turn on the product.

Yes. The Bose TV Speaker can be wall mounted with the Bose Soundbar Wall Bracket (sold separately). This is the same current bracket that is used for the Bose Soundbar 500 and 700.

The Bose TV Speaker is designed for use with almost any TV with an optical audio output (optical cable included) or HDMI-ARC connectivity (HDMI cord sold separately). Most HDTVs are also HDMI-CEC enabled, meaning if you have such a TV and connect your Bose TV Speaker with an HDMI cable, you can continue using the same remote control you are currently using.

Yes. You can enjoy your music and podcasts streamed wirelessly from a Bluetooth-enabled portable device that supports streaming.

Yes. The Bose TV Speaker can play music in synchronized 1-1 connection with any Bose smart speaker or soundbar using Bose SimpleSync technology. This functionality is being controlled by the smart speaker or soundbar in the Bose Music app. Note, you cannot connect a pair of headphones to the Bose TV Speaker for synchronized audio/video grouping.

If your TV is HDMI-CEC enabled, you can connect the Bose TV Speaker to your TV using an HDMI cable (sold separately) and continue to use the remote control you are already familiar with to control your TV. HDMI-CEC will allow the Bose TV Speaker to automatically turn on when you turn on your TV and your existing remote control will control the Bose TV Speaker volume.

If you connect the Bose TV Speaker to your TV using the supplied optical cable, you can use the included remote. Or you can program a third-party universal remote to control (please refer to your universal remote control for programming instructions and the appropriate Bose IR codes). Also, the soundbar can be programmed to “learn” the volume and mute commands from your existing remote. See Using another remote to control your Bose system in the Bose Support section for instructions.

However, for music streaming, you need the included remote to place your Bose TV Speaker in Bluetooth mode and connect your Bluetooth-enabled device for the first time. Once connected, you do not need the remote moving forward. You can go to your Bluetooth settings and “force connect” from previously paired devices.

You can simply “force connect” your previously paired device to the Bose TV Speaker by going to your device’s Bluetooth settings menu and selecting the Bose TV Speaker. This will automatically switch to the Bluetooth source. It will also turn on the Bose TV Speaker if the speaker is off and put it into the Bluetooth source.

The Bose TV Speaker is Roku TV Ready™ certified. That means the TV Speaker is designed and certified to work seamlessly with a Roku TV™. When you connect your TV Speaker to a Roku TV™ through the HDMI ARC port, you’ll enjoy smooth, automatic setup, easy access to the TV Speaker sound settings in the Roku TV™ on-screen menu, and compatibility with the Roku TV™ remote.

The quality is great the sound is out of this world sound like I’m in a movie theater! Great great great product! And yes I would definitely recommend this product to everyone. You can set your preference level of base and treble to give you more of a theater effect. Sound is very clear. There is also a wake option so the speaker turns on with your t.v. another option is connecting your devices bluetooth. This has been great for streaming music and movies. I'm finally getting the sound I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Full, rich sound from a small soundbar I have had this soundbar for one week and have been nothing but happy with its performance and sound quality. The clear, rich sound, even at louder volume, shows the superior design and use of high quality components. The bass levels are also very good on its own, with the ability to adjust the bass level from the remote. The TV dialogue was also very clear using this soundbar, even without enabling the dialogue mode. I have also used the Bluetooth connection from my phone and it sounds great. I have only used the optical connection to connect to my TV and the setup was very easy. My only concern is that the remote is very small and could be easy to misplace. Overall, I would recommend this soundbar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy set up, excellent sound quality I got this Bose TV Speaker for my TV as the sound was not very loud on it's own. I was happily surprised by how easy it was to set up. Just literally plug in and use. It came with different cords including the actual plug in adaptor and an optical cord. I plugged it in, connected the optical cord to my TV. I followed the directions in the manual for proper set up. Then turned it on and turned it up. The sound quality is very good. The sound is crisp and clear and can get really loud without the static sound like my TV would have if I had it turned up without the speaker. The look is simple and sleek and the speaker runs the whole length of it. It gives it a good surround sound and doesn't take up too much space. You could even probably put this on a shelf or hang on the wall. I did receive this for testing purposes but the opinions here are based on my own experiences.

It made movie watching so wonderful. It has a good amount of bass to it, however, it is not going to shake your walls or anything. I, personally, love that feature. The remote is very easy to understand and operate. It came with batteries inside. Setup only took a few minutes and the instructions that are included are very easy to understand. The sound bar itself is very compact but produces a great amount of sound. It is not bulky and sits low. I am extremely impressed with this sound bar and I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior clarity and sound! This was my first-time using Bose TV speakers, and I cannot believe I waited this long! I’m shocked by how much better the sound is. The difference in both clarity and quality way exceeded my expectations. And the sound is natural, and so easy to adjust with just a touch of the bass button. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to install too. It literally took minutes from unboxing to completion. The size is both sleek and slim line. It fits easily under my smart tv and the cords are plenty long enough. One of my favorite features is the Bluetooth connectivity. I can wirelessly pair any of my smart devices to the speakers to listen to both my music play lists and podcasts. My other favorite feature is the “dialogue mode”. The conversations and voices are so much clearer when listening to television programs. I leave this mode on most of the time. I am thrilled with the addition of this Bose speaker and highly recommend this product- you will LOVE it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a Bose!!! What more do you have to say then it’s a Bose! This tv speaker is the perfect size. It's not too big yet not too small. It's about the width of two small cable boxes. For a small size tv speaker, it produces a nice full and rich sound. I was worried that it wouldn’t have any bass, that it would have to much mids, and highs. Surprisingly this thing has some nice bass. It’s not going to rumble your house, but it does a beautiful job of nice and even mids, highs, and basses. The sound is Crystal clear. The set up was a breeze. I don’t think it could be any simpler. You just plug in the audio cable, power cable, turn it on, and presto. The system I had before this was too big, took up twice the space, and had half the sound this Bose has. I tried out the Bluetooth feature, connected it to my Samsung Note 8 phone and played some of my favorite music some with some bass and I was shocked on how good it sounded. This is a perfect tv speaker for that person that wants a simple, high quality sound system. The only negative I can find (and I’m being picky) is the remote is a little too small for me. I’m constantly losing remotes. Lol. The remote feels great in the hand. On the top where the buttons are it has like a soft velvety feel to it. It's really nice touch. It screams high end. Final thought, I’m absolutely in love with this speaker. I would hate to have to go back to my old system. If you’re looking for a great, easy to set up, and use tv speaker, look no further. I mean it’s Bose! They have mastered big sound in a small package and make sound like they do. It’s a know brainer. I love it!

I needed a new TV speaker and this has been the best thing I've bought for my television ever. Very easy installation, and the remote is easy to understand and operate. I even love that it has a base out jack to add on that additional sub.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plug and play easy as can be All I can say is WOW! Bose thought of everything with this TV speaker. Literally from the packaging, instruction manual, cords, and easy set-up. I'm not surprised how great the sound is now from my TV. Bose is known for their sound quality, so that's a no brainer. But the easy of overall set-up, the easy, simplicity, and function of the remote and the ability to hook the speak up through the Optical connector takes my TV to such a better place. Movies and shows are more cinematic and the base is really nice. Not loud thumping base, but good action movie base! The speaker blends in well behind my TV and plugs into a 110v outlet. Also, I really love that I don't need another remote to control this speaker. The on and off function and sound level are automatic with my TV. I do use the Bose remote to change the speaker to bluetooth mode and play songs through my iPhone, and if I want to change the base level, I use the Bose remote as well. Overall, I highly recommend this speaker and I'm impeccably surprised and satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An improvement over Bose solo 5 I’ve owned a Bose Solo 5 for about 5 years now and have enjoyed the sound and performance. At that time I needed something that was at was better than my tv speaker , easy to install and this fit my requirements. The Bluetooth has worked flawlessly. I’m comparing my experience with Bose solo 5 with my new Bose tv speaker soundbar. In about mid May of this month I received an email about this new Bose tv speaker soundbar. I read their description of benefits and features so I preordered one and got it a few days after Father’s Day. I found the unit a well designed, engineered and quality of manufacturing outstanding. I expected nothing less from Bose regardless of the price point. Installation was quick and easy. The addition of the mid speaker is a wonderful improvement in tv voice dialogue clarity than the Bose solo 5. The bass is a bit marginally better. I’m happy that Bose gives me an option of adding the bass module- I will be adding that feature in the near future. As far as streaming music, the connectivity has been perfect. The soundbar is louder with better sound that the solo 5. Again, it needs the bass module to complete the full sound effect.( FYI I have not yet mounted the soundbar. -see pic) Please inform the marketing team responsible for naming this “ Bose tv speaker “ how unibrow they are. I think that tarnishes the Bose name. Perhaps something a bit more fitting of a Bose product “ Bose Soundbar 100”.

But on my Netflix, Amazon Prime and Dish programs the sound doesn’t pickup as good, like by a lot. What can I do to have the soundbar recognize the sound? Thanks

I can say hands down 100% better vocal and with the bass module I can feel the sound!! Yes, you will need a 3.5 mm cable for the bass module connection but you don’t have to deal with any apps!! The ease of use for this system is a winner!! btw - you can use any quality 3.5 mm cable it doesn’t have to be Bose.

I like the size of this speaker (not super big). I was very disappointed that the price went down $50.00 the week after I purchased it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Volume indicator would be nice. Speaker sounds very good and has a good solid feel in its construction. The only problem I have been having is my wife is usually the last one up at night watching TV and she will sometimes turn the volume down pretty low. Then when I get up and turn on the TV in the morning, the TV has reverted back to its built-in speaker. I the have to go to settings and get it switched back the Bose. Apparently the volume was too low for the Bose to pick up an audio signal where my wife had turned it too low. If the Bose box only had a volume indicator number on it (like my old cheap Z-vox speaker) I could instruct her not to get it below a certain level.

My wife can't tell the difference but I wear hearing aid and can tell the improvement. Considering the price it is worth the money.

If you want something that provides more depth in sound, move up to a better sound bar and add the additional base subwoofer. I am a Bose fan who goes back to the 901's, 301's and the I-pod Docking Station. Although this TV speaker is good, I am having second thoughts that I should have opted for something with more punch?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from soundbar Hello. I purchased the solo 5 after buying a wave 4 radio CD player. The radio/CD player performed well. I bought the solo 5 to help clarify the sound on some of the streaming films made in other English speaking countries. Part of the issue is the assorted dialects and accents, of course. The solo 5 does improve the acoustics for some films and enhances most musical productions. I would have preferred a written manual over an online manual to refer to while watching and listening to TV. The unit is not visually encumbered with controls or signals, but it requires memorization of the color codes and sequences. Again, a printed manual enclosed with the unit would help.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Okay for the price I bought this sound bar for its compact size and price. Certainly an improvement over the sound from my TV's speakers. But i find it really lacking in base sound and not sure I am able to boost the base even following the Bose instructions on how to do that. Of course a separate base module is available, for double the cost of this speaker. Switching to dialogue mode does give the TV sound more clarity. I also use it to play music via Bluetooth which is okay. For some reason I thought I would be able to play music via Bluetooth using this Bose TV Speaker AND my portable Bose Micro Soundlink speaker at the same time. Apparently that is not feasible, as I can only play music over one or the other. All in all an improvement over what I was using.
