Bose QuietComfort Headphones are the successors to QuietComfort 45 Headphones. They deliver high-fidelity audio performance and world-class noise cancellation that allow you to hear more of your music and movies — while traveling, at the office, or at home.

QuietComfort Ultra Headphones offer our most premium design and our most advanced technologies, for the best Bose listening experience in a headphone. With QuietComfort Ultra Headphones, you will enjoy our best headphone noise cancellation, audio quality personalized with CustomTune, and voice pickup, among other premium features.

Proprietary TriPort acoustic headphone structure utilizes external ports to vent the earcups and effectively enlarge the acoustic volume, without increasing the size of the earcup. The result is better audio and active noise reduction from a smaller, lighter, more comfortable headphone.

Bose QuietComfort Headphones utilize both active and passive noise reduction technologies. They use a sophisticated proprietary electronics approach for active noise reduction, placing microphones both inside and outside the earcups. The electronics system senses the sound in almost any environment and then measures, compares, and reacts — instant by instant — to produce an opposing cancellation signal. Meanwhile, passive noise reduction is achieved by the combination of earcup fit, design, and clamping force of the headband.

Aware Mode turns on the external microphones of QuietComfort Headphones and feeds ambient sounds into the headphones, enabling awareness of the sounds in the environment, such as cars and emergency vehicles, while still enjoying audio content.

These headphones were designed to maximize all the features that contribute to comfort, especially when you’re using the headphones for extended periods of time. All materials have been selected for their comfort and lightweight properties. Protein leather is used for its comfort, durability, and acoustical properties. The earcups rotate easily for a uniform, comfortable seal. And most importantly, stability is achieved with minimal clamping force, allowing for hours of comfortable wear.

Yes. Bose QuietComfort Headphones have an adaptive microphone system that allows you to use the headphones during calls when connected to any smartphone. In addition to traditional calls, the headphones will work with many apps that use Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), such as Zoom or FaceTime. The microphone system adapts to your environment to isolate your voice from competing background noises and wind so that you can confidently take a call or speak to your voice assistant anywhere you go — knowing you will be heard clearly and naturally.

First, make sure your headphones are turned on with the slider switch in the middle “On” position. Next, slide and hold the switch to the Bluetooth icon until the Bluetooth LED flashes blue or when the voice prompt indicates the headphones have entered into pairing mode. Please note, if this is your first time connecting the headphones, they will automatically turn on into pairing mode. Voice prompts will provide you with additional guidance. We recommend using the Bose Music app to complete the pairing process, however, Bluetooth settings on your device can be used to complete pairing.

Yes. Multi-point technology allows Bose QuietComfort Headphones to maintain a connection to two devices at the same time — for example, an iPad and a smartphone. So while you’re watching video on the connected iPad, the headphones will automatically pause the video to answer a call from the connected smartphone. When the call is finished, the headphones switch back to the video on the iPad.

Bose QuietComfort Headphones have a range of up to 30 ft (9 meters) from the source device. This range may be reduced by physical obstructions, such as walls and doors, or by interference from other electronic devices. Pops or a cracking noise may be heard if there’s interference with the Bluetooth connection. If that happens, move away from wireless routers or microwaves and bring your headphones closer to the Bluetooth device.

The headphones can be charged using the USB-C cable supplied in the box and plugging into a USB port on a PC, laptop, or wall charger. Allow up to 2 hours for the headphones to fully charge. The battery light indicator will show an amber light while the headphones are charging and turn green when fully charged. When you don’t have time for a full charge, the fast-charge feature provides up to 4 hours of play time from a quick, 15-minute charge.

Bose QuietComfort Headphones use a lithium-ion rechargeable battery that provides up to 24 hours* of audio playback with noise cancelling turned on.

Yes. You can continue to listen to your source even if the battery power is depleted. Without power, the headphones operate in a passive mode and neither active noise cancellation nor Active EQ is able to function.

Bose QuietComfort Headphones also give you two options when it comes to audio EQ. Do nothing and the bass, midrange, and treble of whatever you’re listening to will be adjusted automatically to make it sound great. Or choose Equalizer in the settings of the Bose Music app to change the audio levels yourself to however you like them best. Either way, you’ll enjoy immersive sound at any volume.

The larger middle button on the right earcup is the Multi-function button. It initiates play/pause and other track controls for videos and music, answers and ends calls, and also provides access to your phone’s default virtual assistant, like Siri. The buttons on either side of the multi-function button are volume +/– buttons. They allow you to easily adjust volume in an intuitive up/down vertical orientation.

On the left earcup there is a single Action button. This toggles between Quiet Mode (noise cancelling), Aware Mode, and your Custom Modes. This is also a shortcut button; when you press and hold the button for approximately 2 seconds your shortcut, such as battery life status or Spotify Tap, will activate.

Using the Multi-function button on the back of the right earcup, QuietComfort Headphones give you access to your phone’s default virtual assistant, like Siri.

No. In general, the audio/video delay will be excessive and most noticeable in games where action and audio are supposed to be synchronized.

Spotify Tap allows Spotify users to access their music with a single tap on a designated control on their headphones. Press and hold the “Action” button on the left earcup to start your listening session and press down again for Spotify to offer up recommendations for other music you might like. You need a Spotify account and can configure the shortcut control to activate Spotify Tap using the Bose Music app.

Ratings and Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not as advertised it states that the headphones are active noise canceling but are actually acoustic noise canceling. also the manual states that you can adjust the equalizer in the app but you can not. i have not made up my mind on returning them or not.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I got these last month and they're pretty decent. I'm a trucker so I use them a lot and overall great sound quality, decent battery life, and people on the phone say they can hear me pretty well. The only issue is if i have a window open at all there's a lot of weird background sound that doesn't go away when I turn on quiet or commute mode.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from bad microphone I would say the microphone is pretty bad than any airpod. On the other side, it hears lots of noise. Very disappointed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great ANC product but I received a defective one. I started experiencing some crackling sound from the headphones when connect to my iPhone. I thought it could be due to the fit of the ear cup not being aligned well. I asked my wife to try out the QC on her iPhone and she too complained of the crackling sound. This may be down to a defective piece that I received. I had earlier purchased another QC45 (same model) from a retailer but returned it when Bose official website also dropped the price close to retail deal. I had not experienced crackling audio sound on the other QC45 that U returned.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bluetooth technology is lacking. I didn't know how many stars to give because I'm not sure if I purchased a defective pair or whether the bluetooth technology used by Bose is not good. Incidentally, I bought a pair of Bose earbuds for my daughter in law a year ago and now her bluetooth connection is not working. I am hoping that when I get the replacement pair, the issue will be resolved and then I can give another assessment about the product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the best headphones/bad purchase experience I would like to say that the headphones are okay, but not the best. It has some glitches. For music they sound quite good, but at lower volume the bass sounds a bit saturated. They are not too comfortable as I would like, you can tell that you are wearing something because of the pressure vs other designs that you don’t even notice the headphones. The call experience was also compromised, it is hard to hear the other person and you need to put the volume all the way up to hear the other person. The other thing really hurt me experience was that only half of my order was received. I called customer service and they told me that they don’t know when I was going to receive my other item. This was a Christmas gift and it is already new year and have not heard back from Bose. They have the item in stock and you can still purchase it but for an unknown reason I can’t receive my item and I need to wait weeks and weeks without updates and without receiving any compensation for their mistake. So So, be aware and make your choice, because it may still be a better experience to go to a store buy and get your item right there or know if they have it in stock or not. I was expecting buying directly from Bose was going to be a better experience and I love the brand but just be aware as a consumer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I bought Bose QC35 6 yrs ago and impressed with it. And decided its time for upgrade. Just bought this Bose Quiet Comfort and got Moonstone Blue. Liked the color but i feel the noice cancelling and the sound quality are not it used to be.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor construction. I bought this product mere weeks ago and the case has already broken after 3 uses. It was clearly defective, and of horrible quality. Bose is unable/unwilling to rectify this in a timely manner. I have serious questions about the quality of workmanship. I was very excited for these headphone, sounded great in store but experience has been very lacklustre

Rated 1 out of 5 by from QC as in quality control or lack thereof I had to return this product because part of the headband fell apart a mere two days after first receiving it. Two days folks. I had to call customer service twice because the first time, their system was frozen, according to the agent, and they couldn't complete my return. They asked me to call back the next day. My replacement product will not be shipped until the defective product is received. The shipping label Bose gave me has the product arriving eight days from the day I dropped it off at the carrier. Then I have to wait some more time before receiving the new product. With my luck it'll be refurbished. *sigh I should have tried the other brand that rhymes with pony. Worst customer service experience ever for a product of questionable build quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Service First of all I want to say that I ordered two sets of Headphones 1 green and 1 blue. The green arrived 4 days after the order was placed. The blue ones were suppose to ship on the 3rd of December but no that did not happen so we called to see what the hold up was and no one knows anything so I asked to speak to a supervisor and was disconnected, Asked to swap the blue for a white and was also refused so I am considering sending back the ones I have and get a refund.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible quality experience from Bose Ordered *new* as the Black Friday deal. Arrived in an unprotected *envelope*, return address from “refurbished center”, box ripped and torn, creased, beaten, smashed. Waited forever to reach customer service. Was told to “make sure I package securely in a box” (better care than I received) to return and exchange. Ordered 11/24, returned immediately, within days, tracking shows return received. It’s now 12/11 and I’ve paid for headphones I don’t even have. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND QUALITY ON ALL FRONTS FROM BOSE.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible I’m a long time Bose customer. I have two Bose radio CD players plus I had earphones that I lost in a flood lost one of the CD players in a fire so I was happy to order something else. Until it came. I have no owners manual, which it refers to I Can’t find the serial number and the instructions or whatever that pages that came with it is so small I can’t even see it with a magnifying glass. So I’m in a quandary do I send it back for a refund or do I contact fraud at the bank because this is not the bows that I’ve had before. I’ve never had anything this confusing. Please advise
