Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super sound Excellent sound. Comparable to much larger systems. Only quibble is with the RCA style only connectivity to my computer. Would help to have USB or HDMI speaker connection options.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent sound but not enough for serious music I bought these for listening to music. They sound very nice, just not quite nice enough for what I wanted. I went ahead and purchased studio monitors and they have enough sound for me. I’ll keep the Bose Companions though, because they’re great small speakers and I’m sure I’ll find a use for them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from a great little stereo speaker set I've used these speakers for the past few weeks. I really like them. They're small enough that they don't clutter my desktop and powerful enough that they sound like a "Bose" speaker. I especially love the mechanical volume control knob and headphones jack on the front panel. The only thing I would change is if the headphones still worked via a pass-through circuit when the volume on/off switch is turned off like SoundBlaster does it. On the other hand, I do appreciate it that the volume knob also provide my headphones with the added "boost" in volume over what my PC's sound card provides.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would rather have been able to purchase the speakers with subwoofer you use to have. These are ok.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great speakers for the price. Love these speakers for the computer. I found they can be a little dull sounding, but if you're not afraid of a little equalizer tuning on the computer, they will sound great. aux-in is perfect to have connected to my tv and computer at the same time in my office. can switch automatically without pressing buttons

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent sound, lives up to BOSE Reputation Bought these at Wally World because of reputation for Bose speakers and others I have owned in the past. Not disappointed, great sound in a little package. Far exceeded the Dell PC Stereo speakers w/subwoofer I had previously and took up a quarter of the space.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent sound I am NOT a fan of Bose audio, because I find Bose to make impressive-sounding equipment that is however very artificial, doctored, coloured .... BUT i was seriously impressed by these multimedia speakers and decided to lay my money on them. I am not disappointed! I do NOT expect hifi from multimedia speakers, but i DO expect sound that is not distorted (clipping) or with cabinet resonance or overly-bright midrange ... the bass is a bit bloated 'Bose style' for sure, even for their size, but they are most satisfactory at low to mid volume. No better way to listen to 'background' music while sitting at my PC.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For auditorium presentations I give narrated powerpoint presentations in schools and libraries and use several short video clips complete with sound. Even though the hall may have its own sound system I use for the microphone, the small Bose system, quickly installed and turned up full tilt, fills all but the largest auditorium. Not knee bending bass, but clarity for the verbal and instrumental content.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good Sound Purchased the speakers back in the fall of 2015. It's four years later and they sound as good as the first time I used them. You may get a little better sound from other speakers, but for the price, quality and durability, I highly recommend the Companion 2 Series III.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound, but .... I bought the unit some time ago, and am really impressed with the sound especially the bass, from such a small unit. I would have given this a 5 star rating, but for the fact that the 3.5 mm audio cable is so short!. Why design a system with such a silly short coming (pardon the pun)?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice computer speakers A nice set of computer speakers. I would give it 5 stars, but it would be nice to be able to defeat the digital signal processing if desired and having the aux in on the front instead of the back. Overall, I'm happy with these speakers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatility I got my pair of these speakers and over all I'm am very satisfied with its performance, i have been using as a sort of studio monitors and overall they deliver. I have also used these on maximum volume for a long duration and and they still sounded great. They both sound great in low volume and high. i have even made my own volume control knob and removed the stock built in one for a more cleaner look and wrapped them

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Starter Set of Monitor Speakers Great set of starter speakers. I purchased my pair back in 2006 and they are still going strong. Although, I've since upgraded to the Companion 5. What I like the most about these speakers is there simplicity. Plug them in and they are ready to go. No need for a sub. Would highly recommend. Also can be used to upgrade a TVs sound quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great speakers I bought these speakers this week . I connected them to my tv they work great, however Bose should make an extension for the cable that goes between speakers. Six feet is net long enough in some cases.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from well built but a little pricy I find these speakers to do a very great job but I do wish the price point was a little better but you are getting a name brand here so. But yes exceptional speakers not too bass heavy with great clarity I personally find the design better then your standard speakers but could be more artistic. Stays true to what it claims and handles high volumes well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Sound for media speakers I researched this and it performs as expected. I am pleased with the output.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fair Warning Awesome speakers. Great sound. Do not take up much room. Reasonable price. Durable.A fair warning though. If you buy these, as I imagine most speakers are, don't get caught behind the computer while the screen is prompting you to accept something, and then wonder if you are missing a cord since you don't hear anything and do not see that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound for a 2.0 speaker system, room for improvement Pros: very good spacious sound, sounds better than most 2.1 systems that cost about the same.Possible improvements: twin driver setup with crossover so that highs aren't washed out by lows at higher volumes. I find that mid volume is where the quality is best for these speakers.a white mark inlayed into the volume knob. I find that when I am at my computer at night, it is difficult to find where the volume position is currently. The right speaker is set up perfectly as far as cables. Every cable can be removed or replaced. The left speaker however has the cable permanently fixed to it and the end is plugged into the right speaker. I would like for the cable to be removable at the left speaker because cable shorts and fraying seem to be the main failure point in speaker systems. When I pay $100+ for a speaker system, I would like to think that these speakers would last a lifetime.I rate these speakers 4-5 stars because they are great speakers for a computer without having to find space for a subwoofer box. The issues I have mentioned are not flaws in quality but small things that could be an improvement for the next release of the C2 speaker system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than expected I was a little apprehensive about these due to some reviews stating that the series 2 version had a somewhat muddy sound and only worth $50. I bought the series 3 new for $99 and they sound great. I have been unable to find a review of a comparison between the series 2 and 3. But it seems there have been some upgrades. Series three uses the space more efficiently so they smaller, they ditched the RCA inputs in favor of an AUX in so less cables. It still has the headphone in jack in the front. Series 3 is also in black, not the grey, which is why I liked the series 2. But I think the 3s yield a better sound based on all the reviews I've read on both. The bass is satisfying and on some songs thrilling, everything is clear. Occasionally I experience surround sound which is nice.A few things to note regarding some of the complaints on the series 3: There is no on light, (which is a negative) so you have to remember to shut them off which can be done using the volume dial. For a louder sound you have to remember to adjust your computer volume, and the volume on the Bose.Anyway so far I'm very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good choice I use these for my desk top. Sound is good. But expected a little better for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Companion 2 Great clarity and reasonable depth of sound for small speakers. However, like other reviews posted I was disappointed with the length of the audio cable. The cable is too short for my desktop. I ended up having to put the right speaker on the left side and the left speaker on the right side to make it work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Work well look cheap They work well but the cable from right to left is too short and there is too much plastic where there used to be metal I.E. the volume knobs. They sound good but appear cheap

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disapointed Very disappointed! I had the last generation of the same speakers and I loved them, however the bass in one of them started to act up probably because of how old they were so I ordered a new set. The bass in the new ones are nothing in comparison to the others. I knew as soon as I opened up the box and felt they were lighter than the others. The bass isn't anywhere as deep as the others.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quiet And No Volume !!! Great sounding speakers and easy to set up, well built. 3 Stars because the volume does NOT go up enough. I turned them all the way up and they are NOT loud enough, just mediocre at best. Bose knows this and should correct. There are better choices for less money with better audio and louder sound.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but could be better for the money. I bought these as my soundbar stopped working. My dad recommended the Bose name so I purchased this set. They are okay but for should be better considering the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not what i expected if you are looking for a clear sound they have it great sound...if you in the same room. not near as loud and powerful as i expected..........
